Bio

Kurt completed his Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Alberta, where he pursued a career in piano teaching and music composition, with some of his works being performed by ensembles such as Bok Brass and UltraViolet.  He has received numerous academic awards, including the John Philip Sousa Award, for outstanding contributions to the Salisbury Concert Band.  In addition to teaching piano, Kurt has also written educational materials, including a piano exercise book, songbook, and arrangements for piano ensemble.  Kurt volunteers to teach underprivileged children music in Classic Studios’ Giant Steps program and plays the clarinet with the Prince of Wales Armoury Museum Band.
